Rodriguez with maatey after the season opening match

Male', MALDIVES - Victory’s Paraguay midfielder George Amando Rodriguez re-united with Victory for the new season. George, who arrived Maldives yesterday, will start the opening match of Cup Winners cup against New Radiant.

George played a vital role in Victory’s successful run in last year’s Dhiraagu Dhivehi League, which they won and confirmed a ticket to this year’s AFC Cup.
Victory’s remaining foreign players, a Jamaican and another Paraguay player, are also expected join the club in next week.

Many believed George is the most promising foreign player played for a local club in last season and Victory did their best to keep the player as soon as the season ended.

Victory beat Vyansa by 2-0 in the season opening game played last night and they are in full gear to face New Radiant on 9th February in the opening game of Cup Winners Cup.
